Visit the Homestead Apple Festival on Saturday

One of the many things we love about the Cumberland Plateau is that we love to have a good festival! On Saturday, September 25th, you’ll be able to check out the Homestead Apple Festival! The weather is looking perfect and the apples are ripe and delicious! Check it out if you can! You’ll be glad you did!

And check out the Bigfoot Festival display while you’re there!

A Few Rules

We’re working to finalize the vendor and food truck mapping of the Fairgrounds. That will be mapped out by the first of October. Stay tuned for that! We’ll make that map available for all.

Keep in mind that Bigfoot gets very anxious around pets, so please leave your pets at home the day of the festival. Bigfoot says, “Thank you for understanding.” He did say to pass along that service animals are welcome. He says they “shall pass through.” 🙂

Also, please leave the firearms at home, too. Nothing scares the Big Guy more than a firearm. We don’t want to spook him off!

There will be an office at each entry to make sure you are “Bigfoot compliant.” LOL Bigfoot has these rules and if we don’t respect them he’ll head for the hills! That would make for a Bigfoot Festival without a Bigfoot and that’s not good! 🙂

The Voice of The Festival

We are so proud to have WECO be the voice of the Bigfoot Festival! Be sure and tune in to 101.3FM the morning of the festival for some interesting information about the festival, as well as updates on parking and more. Lisa will be sharing all kinds of good information for you to know about! So, be ready to set that dial to 101.3. You’ll be glad you did!

Covid Statement

We have more than 100 vendors lined up for the first Upper Cumberland Bigfoot Festival! Not one of them has expressed any desire for us to cancel or postpone the festival.

We agree.

While covid numbers are certainly high these days, our hope is that numbers will look much better by the middle of October. We will continue to monitor things closely, but we currently have no plans to either cancel or postpone this incredible festival. Our hearts certainly go out to all those battling this awful virus, including our own committee member, Kendra. Please keep her close to your hearts and in your prayers and she recovers.

We will not be mandating masks, but if you feel more comfortable wearing one, please do! Also, the festival is outdoors, and even the CDC advices that outdoor events are far safer than indoor. We will have hand sanitizers available and we encourage our vendors to have that available, as well.

You all take care and stay healthy! Remember, Bigfoot is the ULTIMATE social distancing champion. Let’s be like Bigfoot.

We’ll see you all in October!

Look for us at the Fair!

Look for us at the Cumberland County Fair next week! Just look for the Bigfoot booth. We’ll have merchandise (while supplies last!) and flyers to announce our festival. Stop by and stock up on Bigfoot Festival gear! We can’t wait to see you!

Also, look for our exhibit in the Exhibit Hall! We’ve worked hard to make quite the exhibit for the festival and the organization it benefits, the United Fund of Cumberland County. Check it all out at the Fair!

Attention Vendors

Many of you vendors have received this email. Vendors will simply fill in by zones that are assigned to you. We will have all that clearly marked out for you the day you arrive and you will receive an email (if you haven’t already) that tells you what zone you are in. I’ll have more info on that as we get closer to the festival.

We are so very excited about this unique and fun festival and we hope you are too! We continue to plan for around 20,000 festival-goers! What a day this will be!

The Fairgrounds will open up on Friday, October 15 for you all to set up. That will become available after 9:00 a.m. and will continue until dark. Several of us will be on hand to assist you. We strongly encourage you to set up on Friday.  We have hired a security firm to guard the grounds all night, so your items should be safe and sound.

Keep in mind that this is all outdoors. Due to covid, we feel it’s best that we keep as much of this festival outdoors as possible. We want all these folks coming to feel safe.

We only provide a 10×10 grassy spot, next to a gravel walkway, and 20,000 festival-goers. We will have water and snacks for you on Friday and anything else you might need. I’ll also make sure we have sunscreen, bug spray, and sanitizer. Please let me know if you might need anything else.

We ask that you not bring generators. Those tend to be so loud and obnoxious. If you absolutely need power, I might be able to help you out with that. Just let me know.

We appreciate each and every one of you. You will have first priority for next year’s festival.  We have a feeling this is going to be the biggest festival in the Upper Cumberlands, not only this year, but for many years to come!

We are working closely with county fire and police, city fire and police, the rescue squad, and other planners to make sure this festival runs smoothly. I also have a stellar committee that is working so very hard. Rest assured that we are taking every precaution to keep everyone safe and to make sure folks have a good time!
